Hempmon 2 new industrial hemp varieties pass provincial appraisal.

On October 8, 2024, two new varieties of industrial Hemp selected and bred by Yunnan Hempmon Pharmaceuticals Co.，Ltd. completed the public announcement of the identification results according to the procedures of Yunnan Seed Management Station and obtained the variety identification certificate.
On August 20, 2024, a group of experts led by Yunnan Seed Management Station and consisting of Liang Quan, a researcher from Yunnan Agricultural University, Tang Kailei, an associate researcher from Yunnan University, Cai Zhengda, a senior engineer from Yunnan Academy of Sciences, Wei Ming, a researcher from Kunming Seed Management Station, and Li Yueqiong, a senior agronomist from Yunnan General Station of Agricultural Extension, appraised the two new varieties of Industrial Hemp selected by Hempmon.

In the on-site appraisal session, the expert group viewed the Hempmon industrial hemp scientific research planting base of new varieties of planting demonstration area and field varieties of comparative testing area, taking the “listen, watch and ask questions” way, analyzing the field growth performance of “HM 5” and “HM 6” one by one. The field growth performance of “HM 5” and “HM 6” was analyzed one by one by the way of “listening, watching and asking questions”. Subsequently, in the variety appraisal meeting, the expert group listened to the relevant person in charge of Hempmon's report on the background of the new variety selection and breeding, selection and breeding technology route and characteristics, and unanimously agreed that “HM 5” and “HM 6” are clear in their origin, clear in their selection and breeding process, and obvious in their specificity, and have the consistency and stability. It was agreed that “HM 5” and “HM 6” had clear origin, clear breeding process, specificity and consistency and stability, and agreed to pass the identification.

“HM 5” and ‘HM 6’ are new industrial hemp varieties systematically and independently developed by Hempmon. Compared with the mainstream varieties in China at present, they have higher flower and leaf yield, better seed quality, and both of them show strong disease resistance, wide adaptability, large biomass and other characteristics, and their comprehensive quality is in the first class of domestic industry.
